If you hire White Birds Unlimited to release doves at a funeral/memorial service that you are organizing, please be aware that you are mostly hiring a Christian preacher. That is fine, as long as this is what you want for your loved one's service; however if you wanted to aim for a celebration that is non-religious, he is not a good fit for you. After hiring another celebrant that conducted the service and agreed to keep the tone spiritual but definitely non-denominational, it was bizarre that Tom stood before the group and spent 10 minutes preaching the gospel to them before releasing the doves. He never mentioned to us in our conversations with him beforehand that he planned to do so, and if he had asked our permission to do what he did, we would have told him absolutely not! It was very weird, not in keeping with what we were aiming for with the service, and we regret hiring him. I have no problem with him holding the beliefs that he does, and he had told us that he would spend his time during the service praying for our loved one, and we have no problem with this either. However, we hired him to release doves while playing a song and nothing more. We were disappointed that he felt compelled to preach to us. If listening to a 10-minute Catholic sermon isn't something you want to include in the event you're planning, hire some other dove company. I will add that the doves themselves did not disappoint- they spent 2 full minutes circling us in the cloudless blue sky while our loved one's favorite song played and didn't leave until it was over.

Was a beautiful tribute before our fundraising walk to those we have lost.
